Dallas County Roster Start
The official local route for Dallas County inmate records starts on the Dallas County Sheriff's inmate roster page, which sends users to the vendor-hosted RPS/myR2M Dallas County Jail Roster. That roster is not a name-box search form. It is a browsable custody list with Current Inmates, New Inmates, and Recent Releases tabs. It also has sort controls, a Select Name dropdown, and a Select Page Size control. The public cards are visible without a login and show the booking record details that most families need first.
Dallas County inmate records on the roster cover local jail custody, recent jail activity, and visible holds. They do not replace the Arkansas DOC locator after a state prison transfer, Search ARCourts for filed charges, the BOP locator for sentenced federal prison, or ICE ODLS for immigration detention. A person can also be physically booked at Dallas County Jail while another agency controls release. That matters because the researched roster showed entries marked United States Marshal Service and hold-for-other-agency wording.

The screenshot matters because it shows the real page design: public cards, booking photos, charge text, bond lines, sort options, and a page-size selector rather than a conventional search form.
Use Dallas County Jail Roster
Start with the roster when the question is whether someone is in Dallas County Jail now or was recently booked or released. The roster header should say Dallas County Sheriff and Jail Roster. If it does not, stop and return through the sheriff's roster link. The Dallas County roster can show multiple agencies, so do not assume every person listed was arrested by a Dallas County deputy.
- Open the Dallas County RPS roster or use the Inmate Roster link from the sheriff's homepage.
- Choose Current Inmates for people in custody, New Inmates for fresh bookings, or Recent Releases for people who may have left the jail.
- Use Sort By Arrested Date when checking recent activity, or Sort By Name when scanning alphabetically.
- Use Select Name if the person's name appears in the dropdown. Names are shown last name first.
- Raise Select Page Size to 20 or 30 when scanning many Dallas County inmate records.
- Read the card directly for mugshot, name, race, sex, age, address field, arrest date, arresting agency, charges, and bond.
- If the person is missing, check Recent Releases, call the jail, then use Arkansas DOC, VINELink, BOP, or ICE if the facts point outside county custody.
Dallas County Roster Controls
Dallas County inmate records are easiest to read when the roster controls are understood first. There is no observed Search button, Reset button, or first-name text field. The Select Name dropdown is the closest name search. The tabs are important because a person who is not in Current Inmates may have moved to Recent Releases, while a very new arrest may be easier to see on New Inmates.

Dallas County Inmate Record Fields
A Dallas County inmate record is a compact roster card. It gives a useful booking snapshot, but it is not a full jail management file or a court case docket. The roster does not show a booking or jacket number even though the jail's mail rules require one for personal mail. It also omits date of birth, housing unit, court date, judge, warrant number, statutory charge code, and court case number. Use Dallas County court records after jail arrest when the question is about filed charges or case outcomes.

Dallas County Lookup Channels
The roster is the fastest Dallas County inmate record source, but it is only one access channel. Call Dallas County Jail at 870-352-2002 when a person was just arrested, the roster appears stale, a bond amount is missing, or the charge line says USMS hold or hold for another agency. Office business is handled at 106 South Charlotte Street in Fordyce during Monday through Friday office hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except state holidays.
No special county public-records form was found. For booking material not shown online, request the record from the sheriff or custodian and ask whether Arkansas FOIA allows release. Incident reports have a local rule from the sheriff FAQ: the victim may obtain a copy in person with photo ID, and no fee is listed for that incident-report copy. Booking records and mugshots can still be limited by juvenile status, sealed records, active investigations, medical or security exemptions, or records controlled by another agency.

Dallas County, DOC, Federal
County jail, state prison, federal prison, and immigration detention are different record systems. Dallas County Jail is the county facility. The Arkansas DOC inmate population search is the better route after a Dallas County case becomes a state sentence or state custody placement. The DOC search has county and facility filters, including Dallas-specific options such as Dallas Co. 309/Work, Dallas County Waiting List, and Dallas Cty 309-In Jail. Those labels can help when a county case is in a state custody transition.

Use that locator for sentenced state custody, not for a person who is only waiting in Dallas County Jail on a new local booking.

Dallas County Jail Contact
Dallas County has one listed detention facility in the project facility map. The Dallas County Jail, also called the Dallas County Detention Center, is operated by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office. The official jail page says the building was completed in October 1999, has capacity for 125 inmates, and is an all-male holding facility. It also says Dallas County does not house females in county, which can explain why a person may not remain on the local roster after arrest.

A person held there may still be listed under another arresting or holding agency. The roster research showed Dallas County Sheriff's Office, Bradley County Sheriff's Office, Arkansas Dept Of Corrections 309, and United States Marshal Service entries. A hold can block local release even when another line on the card shows a dollar amount.
Dallas County Booking Records
Booking starts after arrest or agency delivery to Dallas County Jail. Jail staff process identity, property, charge or hold information, intake needs, fingerprints, and the booking photo. Sheriff Mike Knoedl's May 23, 2025 weekly update described a 28-arrest operation where jail staff processed each person, first appearances had to be made, and paperwork was vital to prosecution. That local update fits the roster workflow: the public card is the outward-facing result of intake work, not the whole file.
New bookings may appear after entry into the jail system, but Dallas County does not publish a refresh interval. If the arrest just happened, call the jail rather than refreshing the roster for hours. The booking path can also split after intake. A person may bond out, remain on a local charge, move to Recent Releases, go to a first appearance, transfer to Arkansas DOC after sentencing, or wait for another agency such as USMS to control pickup.
Dallas County Jail Visits
Dallas County publishes more detail about phone, video, messaging, mail, and money than about an in-person visiting schedule. The sheriff FAQ says visiting hours and times depend on county, while the separate inmate phone and visitation page focuses on NCIC remote services. Do not rely on a generic jail visiting schedule. Call 870-352-2002 before traveling for an in-person visit, attorney visit, or records question.

Dallas County Mail and App
Dallas County mail rules are unusually specific. Since May 16, 2022, ordinary personal inmate mail is not accepted at the Fordyce jail except money orders, legal mail, and medical mail. Personal letters go to the scanning address at PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606, with the inmate name, SO or booking/jacket number, facility name, and return address. The mailing must be no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches, five pages or fewer, one-sided, and limited to one photo. Books, magazines, newspapers, and bulk mail sent to the scanning address are returned.
The RPS-Inmate Info app is another roster channel because Dallas County's RPS roster links to it. The RPS-Inmate Info App Store listing and Google Play listing describe a free RelativityInc app for RPS System jail booking and mugshot data. The listing advertises 24-hour arrested and released features, name, picture, arrested location, arrested date, released date, charges, court date, and related information. The Dallas County web cards inspected did not show all of those app-advertised fields, so treat them as vendor app claims rather than guaranteed Dallas County web roster fields.
Note: Confirm the inmate number with the jail before sending mail because the public roster card does not display it.
Dallas County Roster Terms
Short roster labels can change the next step. A charge is an allegation or hold reason, not a conviction. A bond line is a dollar amount on the roster, not complete release instructions. Own recognizance, cash bond, property bond, and private bonding company release are all listed in the sheriff FAQ, but the jail must confirm which type applies to a specific person.

- A federal hold by the United States Marshals Service. Local bond may not solve release.

- A state custody or work-related category that can appear in Arkansas DOC filters and on some county records.
